My journey into design started at UC San Diego, where I studied Cognitive Science with a specialization in Design and Interaction—basically, I learned how people think and how design can make their lives better. I paired that with a Business minor because great design needs to solve real business problems, not just look pretty.
Throughout college, I dove headfirst into UX projects and worked with several startups on everything from user research to marketing strategy. I've always been drawn to the challenge of taking complex ideas and making them clear, compelling, and actionable.
What really drives me is the intersection of psychology and business—understanding not just what looks good, but what actually motivates people to take action. Whether it's a website that converts visitors into customers or a brand message that sticks in someone's mind, I'm fascinated by the strategic thinking behind design decisions that work.
After working on countless projects throughout college, I kept seeing the same pattern: businesses with incredible products and services struggling to communicate their value clearly. They'd have amazing solutions but couldn't translate that into compelling websites, consistent branding, or marketing that actually converted.
I realized there was a gap between having a great business and being able to present it in a way that resonates with customers. Too many companies were either working with agencies that didn't understand their vision, or trying to piece together design and strategy themselves without the expertise to make it all work cohesively.
That's when I knew I wanted to build something different—a consultancy that combines the strategic thinking of cognitive science with real business acumen. I founded Courvelle Consulting to help ambitious businesses bridge that gap between what they do and how they show up in the world.
My goal isn't just to make things look better (though they will). It's to create design and strategy that actually moves the needle for your business—whether that's more qualified leads, higher conversion rates, or a brand that finally feels like the real you.
